W. Thomas McBride is counsel with the firm. He concentrates his practice in complex litigation, product liability and catastrophic loss.

Mr. McBride has years of valuable trial and appellate experience along with an impressive record of defense verdicts.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McBride has defended and continues to defend manufacturers and suppliers of industrial, chemical and consumer products and has received defense verdicts in cases involving fatalities, serious injury and complicated damages.    Mr. McBride has handled many other areas of civil litigation, including toxic exposure, medical and other professional malpractice, cases against in-patient care, disability, convalescent, elder and rehabilitation facilities concerning claims of neglect and deliberate abuse, contract and commercial disputes, construction site injuries, construction defect claims, defamation, public entity liability, premises, automobile and general negligence.  Mr. McBride is preferred trial counsel to Otis/UTC, one of the leading manufacturers and maintenance providers of elevators, escalators and moving walkways.  In addition, he serves as trial counsel for Temple University in the defense of negligence/civil liability cases.  Mr. McBride has also represented major insurance companies including, Liberty Mutual, Great American, USAA, Harleysville and Garden State Indemnity.

Mr. McBride has tried cases at the federal and state levels throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  He has appeared before the appellate courts in both states.  He has argued before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, making new law in the area of common law, sovereign immunity.  He has been retained as pro hac vice trial counsel in cases in other jurisdictions outside of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Mr. McBride graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s degree in 1980.  He earned his law degree in 1983 from Capital University.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. McBride served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Paul R. Kramer, J.S.C. and Honorable Victor Friedman, J.S.C., of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division.

Mr. McBride is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania’s state and federal courts. He is a member of the American, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.  He is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.
