Louis R. Lessig, Esquire, partner with Brown & Connery, LLP in their labor & employment group is the recipient of the 2018 HR Consultant of the Year Award. Developed in 2001, the Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Awards – which includes “HR Consultant of the Year,” “HR Rising Star of the Year,” and “HR Person of the Year” – spotlight the region’s human resources industry and recognize the HR professionals and consultants who exemplify performance excellence and outstanding achievement in the field.
Lessig, a recognized thought leader, employment litigator, labor contract negotiator, counselor, speaker, author and trainer focuses his practice in labor & employment law. He has presented on numerous employment topics and has already taken the stage over one hundred and forty times locally, regionally, and nationally for clients and associations delivering his unique and engaging perspective as a full time practicing litigator who takes the challenging legal and legislative landscape, makes it digestible, interesting and often fun for audience members.
Lessig has been interviewed by such outlets as National Public Radio (NPR) and been published by various organizations including XpertHR, Thompson and Aspen Publishing.
As a dedicated volunteer, he has served as President of the Alumni Board for Muhlenberg College as well as serving on the boards and as President for the Camden County Bar Association and subsequently for the Camden County Bar Foundation. Lessig is the Immediate Past President of Tri-State HRMA, after completing his two year term as President of the chapter, as well serving as Legislative Chair. He also serves as the New Jersey State Legislative Director for Garden State Council – SHRM.
He is the recipient of multiple previous honors and awards for his work, including, but not limited to being an Honoree for the SmartCEO Centers of Influence Award and Winner of the SmartCEO Esquire Industry Practice Award.
