Julia Montgomery is a partner with the firm. She concentrates her practice in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. Ms. Montgomery has represented trade creditors, landlords, tenants, and secured creditors in protecting their financial and contractual interests, as well as intellectual property rights, in Federal bankruptcy proceedings throughout the country. In addition, Ms. Montgomery defends clients against preference and fraudulent transfer claims , as well as alleged violations of the automatic stay and discharge or plan injunctions.
Ms. Montgomery graduated with honors from New York University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and English Literature. She earned her law degree with Honors from Emory University School of Law in 2010. While in law school, Ms. Montgomery was a Managing Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Joseph E. Irenas in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and the Office of the United States Trustee in Atlanta, GA.
Ms. Montgomery previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey, Camden, New Jersey.
Ms. Montgomery is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the New Jersey and Camden County Bar Associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
