Karen A. McGuinness is a partner with the firm and concentrates her practice in civil litigation, including commercial and Chancery matters, worker’s compensation, insurance coverage, healthcare law, construction law, contract law, non-profit corporation litigation, class action defense and complex litigation. Mrs. McGuinness has practiced in New Jersey and Pennsylvania state and federal trial and appellate courts.
In addition to her practice, Mrs. McGuinness has been active in and held leadership positions in several professional and civic organizations in the South Jersey region and is active in her community and church. She resides in Haddonfield with her husband and two children. She is a 1988 graduate of Ithaca College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She received her law degree from Temple University Law School in 1991.
While at Temple Law School, Mrs. McGuinness was a quarter finalist in the National Trial Competition, and was the recipient of the Most Promising Civil Litigator Award and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers’ Murray S. Love Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Mrs. McGuinness has also served as an Instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), the New Jersey Attorney General Trial Advocacy Program, and coached Mock Trial teams at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
Mrs. McGuinness is admitted to practice in New Jersey. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the New Jersey and Camden County Bar Associations.
