Cook, Esquire will be Moderator for a Camden County Bar Association Lunch & Learn seminar titled “Understanding Psychological Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations.” This seminar will answer some of the questions that may arise concerning the need for, standards governing and the ADA implications concerning a Fitness for Duty Evaluation. On April 12, 2017, William F. Cook, Esquire along with other members of the Camden County Bar Association Lobster Bake Committee were awarded the Lauren Higgins Hope Award for donating nearly $60,000 to the school through their annual Lobster Bakes.   This award was received from the Larc School in Bellmawr, which is a non-profit special education school serving students with a wide range of moderate to severe disabilities. Congratulations Bill and CCBA Members on a job well done!

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) recently inducted Brown & Connery, LLP partner William M. Tambussi as a Fellow.  The ceremony took place on April 8, 2017, in San Diego, California.  Fellowship in IATL is one of the highest honors a trial lawyer can receive as IATL limits membership to 500 Fellows in the United States. Tambussi is one of twenty-two Fellows from New Jersey. Chartered in 1954 to facilitate the administration of justice, promote the rule of law internationally and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, IATL selects only those lawyers who have demonstrated excellence in courtroom advocacy throughout their careers. Each Fellow is meticulously and extensively evaluated by judges and other trial lawyers in his jurisdiction and has been highly recommended by them as possessing the qualifications for induction into the IATL.

Tambussi is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He has served as a member of the N.J. Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Expedited Civil Actions, a member of the U.S. Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (2002, 2017), Camden Vicinage and a Commissioner of the Camden County Board of Elections. In 2015, he was the recipient of the James J. McLaughlin Award, an award presented annually by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Civil Trial Bar Section to an attorney and/or judge recognized for demonstrating civility, legal competence and professionalism in the practice of civil trial law. Tambussi presently serves on the Rutgers University Board of Governors having been appointed in 2014.

Tambussi concentrates his practice in labor and employment law, complex civil litigation, professional liability litigation and governmental affairs. He has an active trial and appellate practice in the federal and state courts in New Jersey.

As part of the Brown Bag Lunch Series, the “Insights into Federal Practice: Perspectives from the Bench and Bar” program on February 24, 2017 will feature panelists, Hon. Noel L. Hillman, Hon. William M. Tambussi has been selected by Chief Judge Jerome B. Simandle as one of eight members to serve on the Merit Selection Panel to consider the reappointment of U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen M. Williams, whose term is due to expire in April of this year. As part of this important process, Tambussi will consider comments received from members of the bar and the public, and participate in the determination of whether Magistrate Judge Williams should be recommended by the Panel for reappointment to a new eight year term by the Court. Tambussi previously served on the Merit Selection Panel in 2002.
